Your guide to what's new – and where to find it – at the FORMULA 1 ROLEX AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX 2023.
Whether on or off track, there's plenty to see, do, experience and enjoy at the FORMULA 1 ROLEX AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX 2023.
Use our Circuit Map to check out what’s on around the circuit, or visit the 'Event' section of our website to dig into the detail of what’s in each of our re-launched fan areas around the circuit.
Family-friendly fun
Bringing kids to Albert Park over race weekend? We've got you covered. New this year is The Super Mario Bro. Movie Family Zone that has a little something for even the littlest F1® fan (or fan-to-be); there are carnival-style rides, remote-control cars, assorted sports activities to burn off all that excess energy and a Puppy Pit Stop, thanks to our charity partnership with Assistance Dogs Australia.
Remember to buy a Sir Jack Brabham Trophy pin – all profits will be donated towards Assistance Dogs Australia.
Other off-track zones …
There are plenty of new (or improved) zones you must check out at Albert Park, too.
Let's start with Motorsport Central – it's where you get to watch the Supercars getting worked on in their garages and – for the first time – access to the FIA Formula 2® and Formula 3® paddocks on their maiden voyage to Albert Park.
Chasing a selfie, a signature, some event merch or a glimpse of your favourite F1® drivers when they're out of the cockpit? Head to the Fan Zone to grab a prime position along Melbourne Walk, or be part of the crowd at the Fan Forum Stage – follow us on social media to find out who's appearing and when.
The Green – adjacent to the fastest part of the circuit from Turns 8-11 and a short walk across the lake over the pontoon bridge – is the location of one of our new GA Hubs, showcasing must-see displays from nationwide car clubs, while Beaurepaires Legends Lane is where you'll experience a trip back in time with a celebration of racing history, headlined by the Shannons Historic Demonstration.
And if the technology that drives F1® is your thing, visit the Tech Hub, which features a series of Tech Talks hosted by world-class presenters and displays of new and future technologies from areas as diverse as AI, F1®, aviation, education and more.
Just here for the tunes?
All ticket types will get your free access to our Main Stage, located within M Lane.
Our 2023 music line-up is all Australian, featuring some of the best established and up-and-coming talent in the Australian music industry. Birds of Tokyo headline the Main Stage on Sunday night, supported by Sneaky Sound System and King Stingray.
HEINEKEN® will launch an all-electric Heineken Saturday line-up, with award-winning artist, Hayden James announced at Saturday’s headline act, while our Friday night Main Stage line-up is being presented by Jack Daniels and will feature The Jungle Giants, San Cisco and Alice Ivy.
The full line-up is available here.
… And a new on-track one
Zones on track will be a talking point too; this year's race will likely be the fastest in Albert Park's thanks to a new fourth DRS zone on the 5.278km circuit between Turns 8 and 9, ensuring the circuit's signature chicane at Turn 9-10 is more of a thrill ride than ever. No other F1® track in the world has more than three DRS zones, and 340km/h – we'll let that sink in – is a very viable top speed.
F2® & F3®: the F1® stars of tomorrow, today
Charles Leclerc, George Russell and – of course – Australia's Oscar Piastri; they've all been champions in FIA Formula 2® and FIA Formula 3® before making it to F1®, but never raced in the two feeder series at Albert Park. That's all changed in 2023, with the young guns of the future racing in Australia for the first time. You might just see the next generation's Max Verstappen or Lewis Hamilton make their mark in Melbourne…
Piastri's Melbourne debut
Speaking of Aussie Oscar … Mark Webber and Daniel Ricciardo have flown the Aussie flag in Melbourne since 1996, but we've never had a 'real' local on the grid until now. The 21-year-old cut his teeth racing go-karts in suburban Oakleigh and remembers growing up hearing the sound of F1® cars roaring around Albert Park. As reserve driver for Alpine last year, he got to experience his home race from the inside; in his third Grand Prix, McLaren's new man starts his home race for the first time in what’s truly his backyard.
