F1® returns to Albert Park for Round 3.

Formula 1® is back in Australia this week for Round 3 of the season with the Formula 1® Heineken® Australia Grand Prix 2022 this weekend.

Here is everything you need to know, including the start time and race info.

When is the Australian Grand Prix?

Round 3 of the 2022 F1® season takes place on Sunday, 10 April 2022 at the Albert Park Circuit.

Practice begins on Friday, 8 April 2022 with Practice 1 and Practice 2, followed by Practice 3 and the Qualifying on Saturday, 9 April 2022.


What time does the Australian Grand Prix start?

The Formula 1® Heineken® Australia Grand Prix 2022 starts at 3:00 pm local time on Sunday, 10 April 2022.

The AEST for each session in Melbourne is as follows:


Formula 1®

  • Practice 1: Friday 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
  • Practice 2: Friday 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

  • Practice 3: Saturday 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
  • Qualifying: Saturday 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

  • Race: Sunday 3:00 pm


Where is the Australian Grand Prix held and how many laps is it?

The race takes place at the Albert Park Circuit, located in Victoria.

Drivers will race 58 laps covering a total distance of 307.574 kilometres.
