When is the Japanese Grand Prix?

Round 18 of the 2022 Formula 1® season takes place locally on Sunday, 9 October, at the Suzuka International Racing Course.

Practice begins locally on Friday, 7 October, with Practice 1 and Practice 2, followed by Practice 3 and the Qualifying on Saturday, 8 October.


What time does the Japanese Grand Prix start?

The Formula 1® Japanese Grand Prix 2022 starts at 2:00 pm local time on Sunday, 9 October, which is 4:00 pm Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEDT) on Sunday, 9 October.

The AEDT for each session in Japan is as follows:

Formula 1®
  • Practice 1: Friday 14:00 - 15:00
  • Practice 2: Friday 17:00 - 18:30

  • Practice 3: Saturday 14:00 - 15:00
  • Qualifying: Saturday 17:00 - 18:00
