The Super Mario Bros. Movie to bring Family Zone to Albert Park

Friday, 10 March 2023

Celebrate the movie's Australian release on April 5.

There will be no shortage of fun at the FORMULA 1 ROLEX AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX 2023, with The Super Mario Bros. Movie set to bring the action-packed family zone to life at the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit.

At the centrepiece of the family zone, The Super Mario Bros. Movie activation will showcase a retrofitted life-size Mario Kart – the only one of its kind in Australia – a fun interactive element for die-hard Mario and racing fans.

Guaranteed to keep the kids entertained throughout the whole event, junior racegoers will get to put their driving skills to the test, with fan favourite Rev It Up Racing returning once again and the addition of Ultimate RC set to have the next-gen embracing their inner driver.

For the motorsport and footy fanatics, The Super Mario Bros. Movie Family Zone will see AFL Auskick keep the kids active and challenge them with handballing and kicking clinics.

TICKETS: Watch two F1® practice sessions, plus F2® and F3® qualifying on Friday at the FORMULA 1 ROLEX AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX 2023. Secure your Grandstand tickets for only $105, but be quick, as they are selling fast!

Sky-high views of the whole Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit can be taken in on the Ferris Wheel, while kids with extra energy to burn can show off their best flips and jumps on the Bungee Trampolines.

Rounding out The Super Mario Bros. Movie Family Zone fun, Assistance Dogs Australia will bring the cuddly cuteness, with puppy races and belly rubs sure to keep both the kids and the assistance pups entertained.

Located on the Golf Course side of the park, families can also enjoy live and local music, grab a bite to eat with food trucks lining the zone, and sit back and catch the on-track action at Turns 9 and 10 and on the big screens.

Australian Grand Prix Corporation, General Manager of Corporate Affairs and Communications, Haydn Lane is thrilled to welcome such an iconic brand to the Grand Prix™.

“We’re thrilled to welcome The Super Mario Bros. Movie to the Family Zone at the Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix 2023 and know they will amp up the action for all kids to enjoy,” Lane said.

“With a new generation of F1 fans coming to the event, we want to make sure our event is as easy as possible for families to access and attend, hence centralising the zone to the golf course at Albert Park. We’re also keeping the experience affordable for families, with kids under 14 able to attend for free on the weekdays or from $10 on the weekend.”
