My Room becomes the Official Charity Partner of the Grand Prix.
Following a successful partnership in 2019, The Australian Grand Prix Corporation is proud to announce My Room as the Official Charity Partner of the Formula 1® Heineken® Australian Grand Prix 2022.
My Room has been supporting patients and families affected by childhood cancer for over 30 years, with the vision to reach a 100% cure rate for all childhood cancers.
The Formula 1® Heineken® Australian Grand Prix 2022 is set to host the largest crowds at Albert Park for over two decades, providing the opportunity for more guests to help raise much-needed funds for My Room’s incredible mission.
With less than a week to go until Albert Park is buzzing with excitement, the Australian Grand Prix Corporation is hopeful for another successful year of fundraising for an inspiring charity.
To celebrate this partnership the Australian Grand Prix Corporation brought the Grand Prix to a My Room Formula 1® and motorsport superfan surprising them with an up-close look at the new 2022 Formula 1® show car, an Australian Grand Prix merchandise pack and a special appearance from Mark Winterbottom.
Australian Grand Prix Corporation's General Manger, Corporate Affairs and Communications, Haydn Lane, welcomed the charity back to the Grand Prix.
“My Room has continued to go above and beyond to support children and their families despite the additional challenges they have faced over the past couple of years. We are honoured to be supporting My Room’s vision again in 2022 and are looking forward to seeing both My Room and Formula 1 racing return to the track this year,” he said.
My Room CEO, Margaret Zita OAM can't wait for the My Room volunteers to be able to share their stories at this years Grand Prix.
“My Room Children’s Cancer Charity are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be the Official Charity Partner of this year’s Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix," she said.
"Our volunteers can’t wait to share our story and raise funds to the fans that will walk through the gates over the four days, so please make sure you look out for our volunteers that have dedicated this time to help the brave children and their families going through their cancer journey. After all, it is for all children that we continue to work towards a 100 per cent cure rate. Together we are definitely making a difference.”
Guests can expect to see My Room marquees and volunteers across the Australian Grand Prix precincts accepting donations and raising awareness for their charity.
