The legendary F1® commentator joins the In the Fast Lane podcast.
The Australian Grand Prix Corporation podcast In the Fast Lane has released Episode 5 presented by Nash Advisory with special guest, legendary Formula 1® TV commentator Murray Walker.
Murray joined In the Fast Lane co-hosts Matt Clayton and Michael Lamonato to reflect on his long career in broadcasting ahead of this week's 70th Anniversary Grand Prix at Silverstone, while also offering his thoughts on the frantic finish to last Sunday's British Grand Prix.
Comparing Lewis Hamilton to some of the sport’s best drivers, Walker believes he will become the greatest both statistically and in his approach to driving.
“If you look at it in terms of statistics, he already has more poles than (Michael) Schumacher and has at least three years in him, so statistically he will become the greatest,” Murray said.
“He is better than either Schumacher and (Ayrton) Senna, because both of them, at various times in their careers, adopted highly debatable driving tactics.
“Lewis Hamilton has never been anything like that, he’s always driven as clean as a whistle, he’s an extremely nice, gigantically talented driver and I don’t think we’ve seen anyone like him before.”
