Having competed in both Formula 1® and IndyCar, Ericsson is one of few who can compare the safety protection offered by the F1® Halo and IndyCar’s Aeroscreen from a driver’s perspective.
“I thought the Halo was good when they introduced it, it does a good job, obviously the Aeroscreen does add a little bit more protection because the smaller stuff stays out with the screen there,” said Ericsson.
Ericsson also offered his thoughts on the current Formula 1® battle taking place between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton.
“It’s a great year to be an F1® fan, to see that fight that we’ve been waiting so long to see between Max and Lewis, it’s really exciting. I hope, not being a fan of either of them, but that Max wins it.”
