The New Zealand born driver is focused on proving he has what it takes to be a full-time driver on the grid as he prepares for the Singapore Grand Prix.
Hopes of a full-time drive in Formula 1® may never have been stronger for Liam Lawson, who has spent the year competing in the Japan-based Super Formula championship.
Lawson was called in to the AlphaTauri seat after Daniel Ricciardo broke his hand in FP2 at the Dutch Grand Prix.

With Ricciardo still recovering and a return date not yet known, Lawson gets another opportunity to impress Helmut Marko and Christian Horner in Singapore.
Speaking to the media before his third outing in the AT04, Lawson admitted that he has “fallen in love” with Formula 1®, but is still approaching each weekend as a “race-by-race” prospect.
“I think it’s just making the most of the situation now,” Lawson said.
“I guess we see what happens. It’s obviously very rare that you get an opportunity to drive in F1 and I have it now, so it’s just making the most of it.”
The discussion around Red Bull Racing’s line-up for 2024 continues to be a talking point throughout the F1® world.
Lawson will be hoping to achieve one place higher on the grid then in Monza where he finished P11 and one place out of the points.
