The owner of the infamous Lune Croissanterie.
The Australian Grand Prix Corporation (AGPC) is thrilled to announce Kate Reid, owner of the infamous Lune Croissanterie (Lune) and former Formula 1® aerodynamicist, as an Ambassador of the Formula 1® Heineken® Australian Grand Prix 2022.
Kate will take fans behind the scenes of the biggest Melbourne Grand Prix in two decades, sharing her knowledge and insights into the travelling spectacular that is Formula 1®.
Kate’s love for Formula 1® and passion to pursue a career in the sport grew after attending the inaugural 1996 Melbourne Grand Prix.
Beginning her career as an aerodynamic engineer for Williams Racing, Kate has applied the skills and experiences she gained from working in Formula 1® throughout her career.
After facing the highs and lows of Formula 1®, Kate redirected her energy and dedication to the world of croissants, drawing on innovative techniques to establish Lune as the brand it is today.
Now established as a Melbourne cult favourite, Lune will be in the spotlight at Glamour on the Grid where guests can indulge in Kate’s delicious creations.
Kate’s career and story will inspire a new generation, representing to Formula 1® fans the endless possibilities for women pursuing a career in STEM and Motorsport.
“It’s an incredibly proud and surreal feeling for me, being an Ambassador for this year's Australian Grand Prix," Kate said.
"Having left the high-intensity world of Formula 1 nearly 14 years ago, to pursue a vastly different career as a pastry chef, I would never have imagined that path would lead me to representing both worlds; a proud Melbournian, a passionate baker, and still the biggest fan of Formula 1. I couldn’t be more excited for April 10th!”
AGPC welcomes Kate on board and looks forward to the insight she will provide fans as an Ambassador of the Formula 1® Heineken® Australian Grand Prix 2022.
