Dedicated to the world of Formula 1® and MotoGP™.
The Australian Grand Prix Corporation (AGPC) has launched its new podcast, In the Fast Lane. Dedicated to the world of Formula 1® and MotoGP™, co-hosts Matt Clayton and Michael Lamonato will interview some of the biggest names in world motorsport and update fans on all the latest racing news.
The first episode of In the Fast Lane is presented by Mobile Tyre Shop and features Australian F1® driver, Daniel Ricciardo, who discusses the start of the Formula 1® season in Austria, shares tales of life in lockdown in Western Australia, and offers some insights into his big move to McLaren for 2021.
Speaking about his recent contract negotiations, Ricciardo reveals how different the process was compared to previous times.
“Although we didn’t have a whole lot of data, not having done any races or seen any live performances, we did have a lot of alone time and a lot of time to think and digest – you know, I was out on the farm, I did have the benefit of my own headspace and a lot of time to think about everything. I would talk to some cows and sheep and ask for their advice,” Ricciardo joked.
“Nonetheless it was not easy to come to conclusions and to figure out what’s best for the future, and time will tell what was the right or wrong decision but it was all really sparked from (Sebastian) Vettel’s news,” he continued.
The fortnightly podcast is available on Spotify, Google Podcasts and Apple Podcasts, as well as being uploaded to AGPC’s official YouTube channels.
