As the first race in 2025, the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit will see Lewis Hamilton’s debut with Ferrari, with the seven-time World Champion leaving Mercedes to join the Italian constructor following the 2024 season.
With Hamilton’s bombshell move, FORMULA 1 ROLEX AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX 2024 race winner Carlos Sainz will lose his seat at Ferrari, while a number of other driver contracts have yet to be confirmed, meaning the 2025 grid could look drastically different when Formula 1® returns to Melbourne.
In 2024, a record-breaking estimated attendance of 452,055 at Albert Park surpassed the previous attendance records set in both 2022 and 2023.
The demand for the event continues to thrive, with the 2024 ticket allocation for Sunday Grandstands and Park Passes being exhausted in under two hours. For the first time in the event’s history, tickets for Friday, Saturday and Sunday were all sold out.
The festivities extended beyond the park, with Ferrari fans on Lygon Street celebrating the team’s win well into the evening. The Carlton street, known to locals as ‘Little Italy’, was heaving with team flags and cries of “Forza Ferrari” following the 1-2 finish of Sainz and teammate Charles Leclerc.
Millions of fans also enjoyed the action from home, with Network 10 seeing its biggest-ever livestream audience for the race.
Kayo Sports recorded the biggest weekend in its history, with over 654 million minutes of sports including F1® streamed between Thursday to Sunday.
