Doohan takes maiden Feature Race victory at Spa

The Australian claimed his third victory of the season.
Jack Doohan capped off a stellar Belgian Grand Prix with his first Feature Race victory and third win for the season.
The Virtuosi Racing driver managed an undercut and held Felipe Drugovich at arm’s length for the remainder of the race to secure the victory.
After starting in P4, it didn’t take long for Doohan to clear Enzo Fittipaldi and take second place in La Source.
Doohan was first to pit of the leaders on Lap 10, leaving Drugovich and Richard Verschoor at the head of the field.
The Australian successfully undercut the leaders and built a lead of over three seconds from Drugovich.
Although the pack bunched up slightly when the leaders started to catch the back of the build, Doohan remained comfortably in the lead and took the victory.
“I’m stoked! Finally my first Feature Race win and for it to all come together like that this weekend, obviously not perfect, but P2 in the Sprint from P7 and P1 today from P4 is the most I could’ve asked for,” said Doohan.
“I’m really happy. Now just eyes forward on the next two rounds and the remainder of the season.”
Doohan’s victory lifts him up to fourth in the Championship, now on 121 points ahead of Lawson who reaches 114 for the season.
Formula 2 is back straight away next weekend, with the Championship heading to Zandvoort on September 4-6.
