Doohan comes away from Monaco with a haul of points

Monday, 30 May 2022

The Aussie almost got on the podium.

The Monaco Grand Prix saw Jack Doohan move to sixth place on the 2022 FIA Formula 2® Standings after a successful points haul for the Australian.

Doohan has recovered well in the last two weekends after a tough start to the season in the first three races.

The Virtuosi Racing driver started on the second row of the grid in P3 and held the Juri Vips off until a slow pit stop cost the Australian.

Amaury Cordeel hit the wall on Lap 19, which brought out the safety car, resulting in Vips getting ahead of Doohan.

Although Doohan held onto Vips, he couldn’t get back in front and eventually crossed the line in fourth place.

Calan Williams had a solid opening lap, getting by four cars and holding position. However, he was involved in a collision on the final lap and ended with a DNF.

The 2022 FIA Formula 2® championship returns in Baku on the 10-12.
