Doohan announced as BWT Alpine F1 Team reserve driver
Friday, 17 February 2023
The Australian driver will juggle these duties with his F2® commitments.
Following BWT Alpine F1 Team’s reveal of its Alpine Academy line-up for the 2023 season, the team has confirmed overnight that Jack Doohan will become the team’s official Reserve Driver.
Reserve driver duties for the Queensland-born driver will occur alongside his driver role in the FIA Formula 2® season, where he will suit up for Virtuosi Racing.
Doohan is about to start his second season in F2® and will look to improve upon his sixth-place finish in the Drivers’ Championship.
His 2022 season consisted of three pole positions, five podium finishes and two race victories.
The Australian drove in two Formula 1® Practice Sessions for Alpine during the 2022 season at the Mexico City and Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekends.
Doohan will kick off his 2023 campaign in Bahrain on Sunday, 5 March, before Saudi Arabia in Round 2 and then heading to Australia, where the series will debut at Albert Park.
Tickets to the FORMULA 1 ROLEX AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX 2023 are still available where you can see Jack Doohan drive.
