Crepes for Change to continue the conversation at Albert Park

With a vision to see Australia free of youth homelessness, Crepes for Change has been striving to provide a pathway for young people in the community to a better life experience and have been doing so for the past eight years.
Found in 2015 on the skirts of St Kilda, the not-for-profit organisation has provided a support system for those experiencing hardship, launching a group of social enterprises entirely run by people under 30.
What started as a crepe truck catering to events across Melbourne to increase awareness of youth homelessness has turned into a fully-fledged line of cafes.
Job opportunities at these cafes provide at-risk youth with the opportunity to learn how to navigate the real world and build a beneficial skillset to be implemented in the work force and in life. Offering an avenue for those involved to go on to support themselves, Crepes for Change has created a community that invests in making change each and every day.
“This mission is to eliminate youth homelessness, and the only way to do that is by raising awareness that this is an issue, and that it has a solution. By providing education and opportunity, believing in young people and giving them the right tools, they can have a chance,” said Crepes for Change Marketing and Communications Manager, Amanda Serra.
Now partnering with the Australian Grand Prix Corporation in 2023, the organisation will combine their delicious crepes with their social awareness campaign to continue the conversation surrounding youth homelessness in Australia, with Melbourne crowds throughout the event.
“The Grand Prix is a very visible presence in the Melbourne scene, it’s such a high-traffic event and ultimately the more funds we raise the more young people can be put into the program and given a brighter future.”
Fans heading to the Albert Park Grand Prix circuit can find the Crepes for Change stand located near Turn Three Outfield and Melbourne Sports Centres (MSAC), and can also join the team for a morning coffee on their way into the track, at the For Change Café Middle Park, just outside the Gate 1 circuit entrance.
