Ben Edwards: Ricciardo will deliver in the second half of 2021

The Australian Grand Prix podcast In the Fast Lane has released its latest episode, featuring long-time Formula 1® commentator Ben Edwards.

Edwards joined In the Fast Lane co-hosts Matt Clayton and Michael Lamonato to issue a mid-season F1® report card, where they discussed the standout drivers of 2021 so far, who has improved, who has surprised and who has disappointed after the first half of the year.

A big topic of discussion was Daniel Ricciardo’s disappointing first half of the 2021 season, however, Edwards believes that the circuits they will be racing at following the mid-season break will favour Ricciardo’s driving style more.

“I feel disappointed for Daniel…he’s a real talent, he’s superb and he has a great approach to Formula 1®, so to see what he’s going through is disappointing,” said Edwards.

“I think he can still come back, I really do, actually the next few races after this summer break will be very interesting, we’re going back to early conventional circuits…I think he will deliver there,” he continued.

“I think this summer break might help him, he just needs to rejig a bit, I know he’s got the talent to be able to deliver and I really believe he can do it.”
