The construction of the Neal open wheel race car commenced in 1968 and was finished in 1969.
Herb Neal and John Hornby completed the car during a period of around 18 months.
The construction was very much based on the Brabham type cars of the period.
It was built using tube steel and welded using nickel-bronze and tig /argon. Front suspension is fabricated wishbones, with the ever-popular Triumph Herald uprights.
The rear uprights were hand made from billet aluminium and the car was clad in fibreglass body panels.
The engine is the ever-popular Ford Twincam and produces about 185 bhp.
The gearbox is a 5 speed Hewland dog box with a pawl type LSD. Ratios are changed to suit different circuits, top speed is approximately 140+ mph.
