This car is one of three MR8 Formula 5000's made by Garrie Cooper.
The car was ordered for Vern Schuppan (Australia's 1st Le Mans winner) in 1977 and at the 1978 Australian Grand Prix qualified on pole and finished 2nd in the race.
Vern had Elfin convert it to a Can Am body and competed in USA (3rd at Watkins Glen) for 2 years before being brought back to Australia and restored to its original F5000 specs.
