Australian music industry icon, Bernard Fanning, will headline the evening off-track entertainment at the 2014 Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix on Saturday 15 March.
Fanning will take to the stage following Formula 1® Qualifying with the concert free for all Saturday ticket holders.
Which means for as little as $70, fans have the chance to enjoy a live performance of his solo hits including Wish You Well, Songbird and Battleships at the “Sounds on the Circuit” entertainment precinct at the Albert Park track.
A lifelong Formula 1® fan, Fanning is looking forward to entertaining the crowds after an action-packed day on the track.
“Performing at the GP is going to be a fun way for us to wrap up touring for Departures,” Fanning said.
Australian Grand Prix Corporation CEO, Andrew Westacott, looks forward to welcoming him back to Albert Park.
“Bernard blew the crowd away when he performed at the event in 2010 with Powderfinger and it is fair to say he is back by popular demand!” Westacott said.
“The Australian Grand Prix Corporation is committed to supporting home-grown talent as part of our off-track entertainment package with a number of other exciting musical acts to be announced in the coming weeks.”
The best of Australian music will take to the main stage at “Sounds on the Circuit” with live performances taking place across all four event days with music genres to suit every taste.
